Voyager Estate, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2010
The west of this great land may best be renowned for its mineral riches, the Kimberleys and wildflowers, but in years to come, I suspect that its SSB (Semillon Sauvignon Blanc) will become just as well known.
The Margaret River region is perhaps the State’s premier wine district and along with its Cabernet, the SSB is the darling of the local wine industry.
A great example is the Voyager Estate 2010 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon. It has all the gooseberry and lychees that you would expect of a Sauvignon Blanc but also benefits from the racy acidity of the lemon, lime and citric notes of the Semillon. The real attraction of the wine is the refreshing minerality and crispness of the finish that makes it a perfect accompaniment for fish, salad or just as a summer sipper!
